BLAZE FIRESTORM IS A LAKE ERIE BLAZE CHEER IS A CHEER ABILITIES TEAM NON-AFFILIATED
Cheer Abilities is a program designed to help athletes with a disability (special needs) gain fine and gross motor skills while experiencing the world of Cheerleading! Having a Cheer Abilities program builds the inclusive gym environment Lake Erie Blaze Cheer stands for and continues to grow the “Work Hard. Be Nice” standard.
Athletes will attend class once a week for 45 minutes of tumbling fun! In class, they will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment. They will be learning Intro to Tumbling skills such as forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and bridges. If an athlete has passed all of these skills, they will be able to work Level 1 skills such as round-offs, front-walkovers, and back-walkovers. They will learn basic cheer motions, basic stunting and a full routine to perform as exhibition at local competitions.
Our coaches will help guide the athletes through the skills using effective keywords and creative drills. Each week will entail some conditioning to build strength within each athlete to help make each new skill easier to complete and safer. During each class, there will be multiple coaches helping and supervising the class to ensure fun and safety!
Our season runs August-April. May Open Gyms-May/June Level Evals. June Summer Practices/open gyms. July No Practices Tumbling ONLY and summer events (i.e. parades, festivals etc.)
